Diagnosis

Department of Radiology

The Radiology Department undertakes the procedures required for the diagnosis and follow-up of patients treated at the Centre including computerised tomography, angiography and mammography ; magnetic resonance imaging is carried out at University Hospital. The use of sophisticated interventional radiology has meant that some patients are able to avoid surgery.

The advent of digitalized radiology, rapid communication networks and powerful computer stations will allow our radiology system to become ‘a fully digitalized system’. In the very near future, computer imaging of all radiological procedures will become available, allowing simultaneous access to radiological images during investigation, both within the Centre and eventually to specific points outside (see our project MEDIMAGE).
