Diagnosis

Nuclear Medicine

In nuclear medicine, low tracer doses of radioactive substances are used to establish a diagnosis. Radio-isotopes for patients are prepared in a fully equipped and radio-protected laboratory to ensure safety for the personnel. Scintillography scans are performed using computer linked specialised cameras.

In addition to research studies relating to the clinical activities of the nuclear medicine unit (imaging, dosimetry), the nuclear medicine unit collaborative research programs using positron emission tomography camera with the CYCERON research group (the biomedical cyclotron of Caen).
