Clinical budget

The hospital budget of our Centre is now about 300 million francs, which is paid within the global budget system by the Department of Social Security.

The principal wealth of the Centre lies in the calibre of its employees. Each of the 600 people working in our Centre has been carefully chosen to ensure the necessary level of expertise for diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of each patient. There are currently 40 physicians and we hope to increase this number to allow more intense clinical research without detracting from the quality of the doctor/patient relationship. 70% of our budget is consumed on salaries.

New medical and therapeutic techniques are increasing each year and absorb more than 10% of our budget. These new technologies are expansive, particularly chemotherapy, new antiemetics, growth factors, surgical prosthesis (laryngeal, mammary and venous access ports). The increasing use of sterile products has improved patient safety but increased our costs.

New diagnostic and treatment equipment (radiotherapy, radiology, laboratory, operating theatres, intensive care etc.) and constant improvement of the patient’s environment absorbs about 7% of our annual budget.
