Every year, October is a time to raise awareness of breast cancer screening. This year, the Centre Baclesse took part in a unique and authentic event on the Champs-Élysées, organized by theRuban Rose association.
On Sunday October 1, 2023, Linda, a medical secretary in radiotherapy, and Izel, Méloé, Ophélie and Anne-Valérie, radiotherapy manipulators, travelled to Paris to take part in the Pink Ribbon Parade, accompanied by Amélie, communications manager.
The five of them symbolically "walked" alongside 99 women and 1 man, undergoing treatment, in remission or cured of breast cancer, at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe. For the parade, they joined Juliette, a patient with triple-negative breast cancer undergoing treatment at the Centre Baclesse, who wanted to experience this unique event with the professionals who share her daily life.

Two colors were on display: pink and white. People affected by the disease, embodying the pink color, were able to share stories of courage and resilience with the white coats (researchers, doctors and caregivers).
The girls also met the godmothers of the Ruban Rose association, Evelyne Dhéliat, Claudia Tagbo and Alice Detollenaere. And other committed personalities such as singer Jenifer, who provided musical accompaniment to the fashion show choreographed by Medhi Kerkouche.
It was a day rich in emotion, during which our 5 radiotherapy professionals came together to testify, raise awareness and pass on a message of hope to patients and the general public.
You too can get involved in Pink October and support breast cancer research by making a donation to the Centre Baclesse!
