The missions of Espace Patients&Proches

Welcome

To best meet your needs, EPP must be as close to you as possible. That's why it's located right at the heart of our healthcare facility.

Listen to

Our counsellors are there to listen attentively. They are there to discuss all aspects of the disease with you.
You (patients, relatives, etc.) can come and talk about what you're going through/feeling, and speak freely, without time constraints and in complete confidentiality.

Inform

Our health advisors are there to provide you with information tailored to your needs and requirements.

You will find :

  • information on the disease in general, treatments and their side effects, and social aspects, all in a language accessible to all;
  • Information on the Centre's internal and external resources;
  • contact details for various local and/or national support associations;
  • various clear, validated information media (paper, video, internet, etc.).

Exchange

The Espace Patients&Proches is also a meeting place for patients, relatives, professionals and associations.

You can :

  • take part in public debates led by professionals,
  • take part in EPP meetings, themed workshops between patients supervised by health coaches and a healthcare professional.

Espace Patients&Proches organizes information workshops for patients : Les Rencontres INFO
Find out about the dates and topics of upcoming Rencontres INFO in our "Agenda" section! It can also be sent to you by e-mail. All you have to do is give your e-mail address to the health support staff.

Questions from visitors to the Patients&Caregivers area

You're being treated for cancer and you have a lot of questions. This is normal. EPP can answer them and give you guidance. Here is a selection of the most frequently asked questions, but there are many others. Don't hesitate to come to EPP.

  • How do I talk to my children about my illness?
  • Can I get help to look after my children, maintain my home, do my shopping?
  • I don't understand advance directives!
  • If I have side effects, who can help me?
  • If I lose my hair, what can I do?
  • Do I have to stop working? And what will my income be while I'm off work?
  • The difference between a CT scan and an MRI?
  • Since he was diagnosed, my husband has been completely lost.

Les Perruques du coeur

The Espace Patients&Proches also offers the Perruques du cœur service to patients at the Centre François Baclesse who have difficulty acquiring a hair prosthesis, cap or turban suited to their morphology and taste.

This service is made possible by donations from Courants de la liberté via the La Rochambelle race.

Solidarity keeps this service going, as it is the women who donate their hair prostheses, caps or turbans after their treatment.
