Suzi Handicap Animal Association
The Centre Baclesse found that some patients were refusing hospitalization due to a lack of options for looking after their pets. In response to this problem, the Center signed a partnership with Suzi Handicap Animal, a shelter specializing in taking in disabled animals. A partnership that benefits both patients and animals.
Unlike a "classic" shelter, the animals are housed in apartments, children's rooms, living houses... These spaces are specially adapted to preserve as much as possible their life in freedom and in a group, while taking into account their specific needs.
In practice
The association takes care of animals free of charge, whatever their species:
- Dogs,
- Cats,
- Horses,
- NAC...
- within the limits of its capacity.
A service agreement will be drawn up between the association and each patient, setting out the terms and conditions of the care. In particular, the patient is asked to provide adequate food and the animal's toys or basket, if applicable.
The welcome will be personalized according to each animal's specific characteristics, such as age, weight and tolerance of other animals.
In addition, the association will ensure regular communication with owners, providing them with news of their pet via photos, videos, phone calls and SMS messages.
