From October 1 to 3, 2026, the François Baclesse Center participated in the annual conference of the International Gynecologic Cancer Society (IGCS), held in Montreal, Canada. This international conference brings together specialists involved in the treatment and research of gynecologic cancers.

Gaining a Better Understanding of Gynecologic Cancers and Treatment Responses

Dr. François Cherifi presented two studies. The first, presented orally during a plenary session, focuses on the characterization of a group of patients participating in the GINECO-UTOLA clinical trial. The second, presented as a poster, examines miR-622—a molecule found in tumor cells—to evaluate its potential as a marker of response to olaparib in advanced or metastatic endometrial cancer.

The goal of this research is to expand our knowledge of gynecologic cancers and to better understand the factors that may influence the response to treatment.

Professor Florence Joly also contributed to this edition as a member of the conference’s scientific committee. She also gave two presentations—one during a medical session and the other during a session dedicated to female patients—illustrating the diversity of discussions and approaches addressed at this international event.

The participation of teams from the Baclesse Center in this conference helps foster the sharing of scientific advances and experiences related to gynecologic cancers.
