Day school
The Center welcomes around 20 pharmacy students a year.
These students are in their 5th and final year of graduate studies. The internship lasts 4 months. The objectives are based on the guidelines set out in the "Guide pédagogique des fonctions hospitalières de pharmacie clinique".
The pharmacy student is made aware of the importance of comprehensive patient care in cancerology, and of interdisciplinarity. They work as part of a team, in collaboration with the medical extern.
Pharmacy students also benefit from a program of visits to medical-technical departments, giving them an overview of the activities of a cancer center.
Pharmacy externs can choose from 3 types of internships:

Conciliation activity :
Objectives :
- Collaborate and interact with the medical team (seniors and students) and nursing staff
- Conduct a standardized pharmaceutical interview with the patient
- Understand and participate in the adaptation of therapies during hospitalization, based on clinical status, biological results, swallowing disorders, administration of tube medications and the hospital's therapeutic booklet.
Pharmacy activity :
Objectives :
- Understand the process of preparing injectable anticancer drugs in a controlled-atmosphere zone (hygiene rules, computerization of the process).
Activity in the infectious risk prevention department (hygiene) :
Objectives :
- Discover how to prevent the risk of infection and bacterial resistance in a healthcare facility, as part of the national strategy for the prevention of infections and antibiotic resistance, which covers all 3 healthcare sectors (urban, medico-social, healthcare facilities),
- Participate in this prevention, to the best of your ability.

Teaching objectives are set by the department manager with the intern when he/she is assigned to a department. They are graded throughout the six-month internship, so as to give the intern increasing autonomy in line with the knowledge and skills he or she has acquired, and with his or her seniority. The intern's achievements are periodically assessed and validated by his or her training supervisor and the doctor in charge of the department.
The Center takes particular care to ensure that these pedagogical principles are constantly reconciled with the quality and safety due to every patient under its care.
Teaching conditions : On arrival, interns benefit from a welcome seminar designed to get them up and running quickly. Interns are systematically invited to all medical events organized by the Centre François Baclesse or other organizations. They also benefit from the services and documentary resources of the medical library.
Double degree in Pharmacy and Science (PharmD-PhD)
As part of its early and flexible research training program, the Center welcomes pharmacy students to give them the opportunity to carry out research, in parallel with their basic training, so that they can later combine a research activity with their clinical practice.
This training is part of national programs for early research training (Inserm School) and regional programs run by the universities of Caen and Rouen.
For pharmacy students, research training opens the door to careers in research, university and hospital teaching.
