The Caen Drakkars Hockey Club has been supporting the Baclesse Center for several years. Once again this year, it has rallied behind Pink October and Movember to raise funds to strengthen breast cancer research efforts and help improve patient comfort at Baclesse.
Pink October and Movember with the Drakkars
On October 21, 2023, to mark Pink October, the Drakkars hosted the Comètes de Meudon for a match in aid of the Center, kicked off by Pr Roman ROUZIER. The Caen team wore pink shirts specifically designed for this match dedicated to breast cancer. The shirts worn by the players were auctioned off from October 23 to 27, with all proceeds going to the Center.
The "Pink October" program was replicated for Movember. On November 11, 2023, at the Caen ice rink, the Drakkars faced off against the Chambéry Elephants after the opening face-off by Michèle MARIE, an anesthetist nurse at Baclesse. Congratulations to the Caen team, who won by a wide margin against Chambéry!
Here too, the "Movember" jerseys worn by the players were auctioned off the week after the game to raise funds for Baclesse.
6,387 donation for Baclesse
On January 15, 2024, Ludovic LANES, Club President and Brice CHAUVEL, General Manager, accompanied by their partners, presented Pr Roman ROUZIER with the donations from these 2 operations.
- Pink October: €3,485 for Laurent POULAIN's team, for work on the ORGAPRED platform.
- For Movember: €2,902 for the operating room team, to support the project to create an "animated" ceiling in the recovery room. This will help reduce stress and promote relaxation and serenity for patients, with soothing, pleasant landscapes.
