The Centre François Baclesse welcomes a large number of students from the paramedical professions: nurses, nursing aids, therapeutic electroradiology manipulators, dieticians, speech therapists, etc.
In 2020, the number of interns was 365 and the average internship lasted 6 weeks. Every department is an internship site, with over 50% of internships taking place in care departments. In the same year, the facility welcomed 26 apprenticeship and professionalization contracts.
The teaching dynamic is an integral part of our core business.

How to apply?

The Human Resources department offers future students, interns and work-study students the opportunity to apply via the website :

Your application must be supported by a cover letter and CV.
The little extra: information about your internship dates, work-study schedule, agreement with the university/school...
However, if you do not hear from us within three weeks of your request, please consider that we are not in a position to respond favorably to your application.

The Centre's tutoring approach

You will be welcomed into the department by a tutor trained in the care of trainees and alternates. He or she will support you throughout your time at the Center.
As soon as you arrive, you will be invited to an induction day to familiarize yourself with the Center's organization, and to learn about our quality, health and safety procedures.
Depending on the department to which you belong, you will be given a training program and induction booklets.

Medical imaging and therapeutic radiology manipulator

Work-study students

The Centre François Baclesse created the manipulator apprenticeship in collaboration with the Lycée Jean Guéhenno in Flers. Since then, the Radiotherapy department has taken on 2 apprentices per year, and the Radiology / Nuclear Medicine departments also take on 1 per year.
During their apprenticeship, student apprentices are employed from September 1 to August 31 of the current year or the following year, depending on the year of study (2nd or 3rd year).

Radiotherapy trainees

The Center welcomes between 40 and 50 student radiotherapists per year from all over France (including French overseas departments and territories), all year round (including all school vacations). These internships start at the end of their 1st year of study, and last between 3 and 6 weeks.
Internship objectives are based on current standards.
During the internship, students will be asked to analyze patient files in order to work out their care pathway and the radiotherapy technique used. He/she will then be able to describe the patient's care and a detailed reading of dosimetry. This written work will then be corrected by the tutor, and any positive or negative comments will be given back to the student to help him or her progress.
The radiotherapy department offers each student the opportunity to discover different treatment techniques:
- Conformation (Artiste / Siemens - Clinac / Varian)
- Tomothérapie ®
- Arcthérapie (Rapid'Arc / Varian)
- Stereotaxie (Cyberknife®)
- Contacthérapie (Darpac ®) (skin tumor technique)
- Intrabeam ®
- Curiethérapie (HDD, Implantation de grains d'iode 131)

The student can also take part in the preparation of simulated treatments and the dosimetric study of files (subject to conditions). The student can also discover other areas of the Center, such as chemotherapy administration, cache preparation, medical surveillance consultations, welcome consultations by the manipulators...
In addition, radiotherapy physicians and manipulators regularly give courses at the IFMERM in Caen and the DTS in Flers. We play a very active role in student training, both in terms of the courses we give and the support we provide during internships.
