Passing on your estate is a gesture of generosity and a message of hope for all those fighting cancer. Through a bequest, life insurance policy or donation, you give our researchers and doctors the means to accelerate cancer research. In this way, you are helping to finance therapeutic innovations in cancer research.

Legacies: support for the future

A bequest enables me to pass on one or more assets after my death.
The Centre Baclesse, which is recognized as a charitable organization, is authorized to receive donations and bequests, which entitle the donor to a tax deduction that can be applied toincome tax (Impôt sur le Revenu - IR) orreal estate wealth tax (Impôt sur la Fortune Immobilière - IFI).
Making a bequest is a way of giving meaning to a legacy built up over a lifetime.

To bequeath all or part of my estate to the Centre Baclesse :

➜ I must draw up a will notifying my wishes and convictions.
My testamentary dispositions will only become effective after my death.
In this way, I will retain full ownership of my estate and be able to dispose of it as I wish.

The different types of will

Passing on your heritage - Baclesse, Caen
  • Holograph wills: They must be entirely handwritten, dated and signed. To ensure that it is preserved, it is essential to entrust it to a notary, who will register it in the central file of last wills and testaments (FCDDV).
  • Authentic will: My wishes are dictated to me by my notary, in the presence of one of his colleagues or two witnesses. He keeps the original copy of my will in his office and registers it in the central file of last wills and testaments (FCDDV).

I can choose to modify or cancel them at any time.

There are other forms of will that we won't go into here, as they are rarely used and offer no advantage over these two much more widespread forms.

What can I bequeath?

I can bequeath all or part of my real estate and/or personal property, respecting the share reserved for my heirs (my children or, failing that, my spouse). I am free to dispose of the remainder, known as the " available portion ".
If I have no spouse or children, I can bequeath my entire estate to the Centre Baclesse.

Donations: immediate support

A donation enables me to pass on, during my lifetime, one or more movable or immovable assets (such as an apartment, a plot of land, a sum of money) to the Centre Baclesse.
Organizations recognized as being of public interest, such as the Centre Baclesse, are entitled to receive donations which open the right to a tax reduction that can be applied to theImpôt sur le Revenu (IR) orImpôt sur la Fortune Immobilière (IFI).

➜ Very simple to set up, this immediate gift must be drawn up by my notary in the form of a notarial deed.
Once acted upon, this decision is final.
In this way, I will retain full ownership of my assets and be able to dispose of them as I wish.

Life insurance: solidarity-based savings

Choose life insurance, the investment that brings new victories against cancer every year!

Life insurance does not count towards my estate or my inheritance reserve.
I can therefore freely choose to allocate the amount saved to the beneficiary(ies) of my choice. This amount can be distributed freely among the designated beneficiaries.

Life insurance is a simple way of passing on all or part of my capital invested at the Centre Baclesse. All I have to do is :

designate the Centre Baclesse as the "beneficiary" of your life insurance policy.
➜ Taking out a life insurance policy in favor of the Centre Baclesse is the simplest, most flexible and most effective way to participate actively and transparently in funding cancer research.
