Pink October - Baclesse, Caen
Thank you to Joséphine NEUVILLE and Audrey REGNIER for their commitment to the Centre Baclesse and to all women!

Let's fight breast cancer together!

Pink October is the international campaign to inform, screen and raise funds for breast cancer research and control. Identifiable by its legendary pink ribbon, every year from October1 to 31, the world turns pink to raise awareness of breast cancer screening and support those affected by the disease.

Breast cancer: why screen?

Regular screening for early detection

Breast cancer screening makes it possible to detect any abnormality or cancer early, before symptoms appear.
This early detection increases the chances of cure.
Moreover, cancers detected at an early stage generally require less extensive and less aggressive treatment, with fewer after-effects.

Monitoring and screening

From the age of 25 onwards, it's advisable to have a follow-up gynecological examination by a doctor, gynecologist or midwife.

Between the ages of 50 and 74, organized screening involves a clinical examination andmammography in an approved radiology practice. To find out more, contact the Centre Régional de Coordination de Dépistage des Cancers in your region. Mammograms should be repeated every 2 years if there are no symptoms or particular antecedents.

From the age of 75, screening is once again individual, with follow-up by a doctor, gynecologist or midwife.
