The Centre Baclesse, the Centre Hospitalier de Flers (CH de Flers) and SELARL Imagerie Médicale du Bocage (SEL Imagerie) have announced the signature of a partnership agreement aimed at strengthening the care of patients suffering from breast cancer. This partnership, based on the cooperation and complementarity of the three structures, aims to structure a common coordinated care pathway, from screening to treatment, via diagnosis and follow-up, in order to offer high-quality, accessible care.

A partnership for better patient care

The Centre Baclesse, a leading cancer center in Normandy, the Centre Hospitalier de Flers, a support hospital for the Collines de Normandie GHT with a wide range of care services, and SEL Imagerie, a major local player in medical imaging, are pooling their skills to create a care pathway dedicated to breast cancer. This collaboration guarantees comprehensive care tailored to patients' needs and wishes, with follow-up consultations at both sites.

Within the framework of this partnership :

  • A surgeon from the Centre Baclesse will provide consultations at the CH de Flers site, reinforcing the surgical team.
  • Patients may be referred for surgery at the Centre Baclesse or the Flers hospital, depending on their situation.
  • Complex cases will be the subject of multidisciplinary consultation meetings at the Centre Baclesse.
  • A single telephone number for each site will make it easier to book appointments

A shared commitment to continuous improvement in care

The agreement also provides for regular monitoring of cooperation, with an annual assessment of practices and patient satisfaction. A steering committee, made up of representatives from the three establishments, will meet at least once a year to review the collaboration and consider future developments.

"This partnership is part of our commitment to improving access to care for all patients in Normandy by offering them local, high-quality treatment. The Baclesse Center is committed to contributing its expertise in oncology to strengthen local healthcare provision, in close collaboration with Flers Hospital and SEL Imagerie," said Professor Roman Rouzier, Director General of the François Baclesse Center.

"The signing of this agreement marks an important step in the development of our oncology care offering. This partnership with the François Baclesse Center and SEL Imagerie enables us to meet the needs of patients by offering them a seamless care pathway, from imaging to surgery, and by ensuring appropriate follow-up," said David TROUCHAUD, Director of the Flers Hospital Center.
