Faced with the growing number of patients hospitalized at the Centre François Baclesse for their treatment while being positive for COVID, management decided yesterday to reopen a dedicated unit to accommodate them. The 10-bed unit is located on the 5th floor south of the Centre. It will remain open as long as the health situation requires.
24 hours after its opening, 10 patients are already being cared for by a team of specially trained carers, with logistics circuits adapted to meet the regulations of a COVID unit in terms of care, catering, linen and waste management.
As in other hospital wards, visits to patients on this unit are suspended until February 14, 2022, with the possibility of an extension.
For the record, the Centre had already opened a unit of this type, on the Centre's 2nd South floor, from November 9 to December 11, 2020.
