To mark Movember, the month of November dedicated to men's health and in particular to prostate and testicular cancer, the Union Départementale des Sapeurs-Pompiers du Calvados (UDSP) joined forces with a number of partners, including the Centre François Baclesse, to support the fight against cancer.
Initiated by Wilfried Van Oost, a professional firefighter, in association with numerous partners, this mobilization has resulted in the organization of information and awareness-raising actions aimed at raising the general public's awareness of male cancers. A special "Movember" day was held at Les Rives de L'Orne on November 20, 2021, with :
➜ information stands in the presence of firefighters, Professor Marc-André Mahé, Director of the Centre François Baclesse, Hermeline Delepouve, Director of Communications, International Relations and Sponsorship, and professionals from the Centre François Baclesse.
➜ the sale of the "Harold" patch created specifically for this Movember operation to raise funds to support cancer research.

The funds raised by these actions enabled the Union Départementale des Sapeurs-Pompiers du Calvados to donate €2,930 to the Centre François Baclesse for cancer research.
The Centre François Baclesse warmly thanks the Union Départementale des sapeurs-pompiers du Calvados for its decisive support in advancing research. We would also like to pay tribute to the energy deployed by all those involved in this event, and more broadly in the fight against cancer, alongside the teams at the Centre François Baclesse.
A big THANK YOU for your energy and support!
