Founded in 2002 by a Hermanville-sur-Mer family faced with cancer, the Rêves de Voyages association is dedicated exclusively to supporting the Centre Baclesse. Since its creation, the association has been working to improve the comfort and well-being of patients hospitalized/attended at the Center and their families.
Rêves de Voyages, a partner association
For 20 years, the Rêves de Voyages association has been a loyal partner of the Centre Baclesse. In constant liaison with the establishment's teams, it pays particular attention to patients, helping to ease the difficult moments that sometimes arise with cancer, and contributes to improving their quality of life.
Rêves de voyages defines itself as "a window of hope for patients".
Nearly €200,000 raised in 20 years!
Thanks to the enthusiasm and dedication of its volunteers, the association has set up a number of initiatives to benefit the Centre Baclesse.
Themed evenings, lotos, hikes and Christmas markets have helped raise funds and support patients and their families over the past 20 years.
It's also thanks to spontaneous donations, donations made atevents and membership fees that Rêves de voyages is able to pursue its mission of aid and support.
Thanks to its donors, and together for 20 years, numerous projects have been funded, representing a total of nearly 200,000 euros:
- Comfort equipment: such as armchairs, refrigerated bedside tables, in-bed dining tables, coffee tables...
- Relaxation and conviviality areas: for patients and their families on treatment floors and in radiotherapy waiting rooms,
- Comfort projects: welcome booklets for children undergoing radiotherapy...
Rêves de voyages is also " Readings in the garden " offered by the association's volunteers. Since 2015, reading times have been organized every summer, 1 day a week, in the Centre Baclesse's "Océan Vert" therapeutic garden.
Patients and their families meet up with volunteers who read them a poem, a passage from a book, ...the idea is to bring the time of a reading, a moment of escape, gentleness and relaxation; a moment outside of care.
In 2022, the association is working with La Rochambelle topurchase MOTOmed® for hospital floors. The MOTOmed® is an adapted physical activity and re-education device designed for all people with reduced mobility, and can be used from a chair or wheelchair.
