At an evening event organized on Friday June 14, 2024, Gérard CORNIERE, President of the Lions Club de Domfront-en-Poiraie (61), presented a cheque for €10,000 to the Centre Baclesse, the fruit of the efforts and generosity of all those involved in the Tulips Against Cancer operation.
Support for ovarian cancer research
These precious funds will be used to acquire a Real-Time PCR machine dedicated to ovarian cancer research. This cutting-edge equipment will enable us to make significant progress in understanding and treating this disease, thereby improving the outlook for our patients.
A loyal commitment to solidarity
The evening was an ideal opportunity to extend heartfelt thanks to the more than 70 volunteers who play an active part in the Lions Club's various initiatives. Their unwavering commitment is essential to the success of initiatives such as Tulips Against Cancer. Our thanks also go to the municipalities, shopkeepers, craftsmen and professionals who provide invaluable support for these projects.
Mr. CORNIERE recalled the impressive results achieved this year: " 36,000 tulips harvested, 3,000 bouquets sold, and €20,000 raised compared with €13,000 last year ".
