The Falaise Young Farmers' Association cultivated a plot awaiting construction and presented a cheque for €1,500 to the Centre Baclesse for cancer research.
The young farmers cultivated a 4-hectare plot of land (soon to be urbanized), made available by the Pays de Falaise community of municipalities. The Young Farmers' Association obtained free corn seed and fertilizer, thanks to partners, with the aim of running a charity operation.
The plot was cultivated entirely on a voluntary basis by members of the association, and the harvest was sold to a local farmer.
All proceeds from the sale, i.e. €3,000, were donated to 2 organizations:
- 1,500 for the Centre Baclesse,
- 1,500 for the association "Un geste, un rêve, un sourire" which supports hospitalized children.
The Centre Baclesse will use the donation for epidemiological research on the farming population.
