On Monday February 7, 2022, Mrs Najoua El Berrak, Moroccan Consul General in Rennes, was received by Professor Marc-André Mahé, General Director of the Centre François Baclesse, to discuss avenues of cooperation between Moroccan oncology healthcare players and the Centre Baclesse.
Ms El Berrak was accompanied by Dr Ahmed Lahjaouzi, intensive care anesthetist, and Amine Benjelloun, senior consultant.
The Centre Baclesse's three core missions of cancer care, teaching and research were discussed as potential areas for collaboration.
Visit the Cyclhad proton therapy center
Following introductions in the meeting room, Mrs Najoua El Berrak visited Cyclhad, the Normandy Proton Therapy Center. The visit was guided by Cyclhad's General Manager, Gabriel Gaubert.
This working visit enabled our Moroccan contacts to discover the innovative therapy of proton therapy, which uses protons instead of X-rays. The visit then continued to the construction site, still underway, which will house the C400, a heavy ion gas pedal, enabling, among other things, carbon therapy.
