On February 5, 2025, the hockey club "Les Drakkars" and its partners donated €7,300 to the Baclesse Center. Once again this year, these donations demonstrate the club's ongoing commitment to cancer research and improving the comfort of patients at the Baclesse Center.
Projects financed thanks to you
In 2025, the Hockey Club organized two solidarity events to support the Centre Baclesse:
Octobre Rose: A dedicated match and jersey sale raised 3,791 euros for breast cancer research.
Movember: Another match and the sale of jerseys raised €3,508 to refurbish the operating room's recovery room. This project will be made possible thanks to generous donations from the Caen Hockey Club "Les Drakkars" and the associations Rêves de Voyages and Les Bobines d'Esquay.
The donations were presented to Professor Roman Rouzier, Director General of the Baclesse Center, and to the teams involved in supporting these research projects and improving patient comfort.
The presentation of the cheques was followed by a tour of the research laboratories and the operating theatre, giving participants the opportunity to see the tangible impact of their donations.
Awareness-raising and fund-raising activities
As early as 2016, the Hockey Club committed itself alongside Baclesse by organizing awareness-raising actions, such as information stands and events like Octobre Rose and Movember on the occasion of dedicated matches. From 2020 onwards, the club's commitment has intensified with concrete fundraising events, such as jersey auctions at October Rose and Movember matches, to support research and improve patient comfort.
