On February 23, the Baclesse Center welcomed Le club des Drakkars – Hockey Club de Caen for the official presentation of donations collected during solidarity campaigns organized during Pink October and Movember 2025. Thanks to the mobilization of the club, its supporters, and its partners, two checks were presented:
- €3,890 for Pink October, a month dedicated to breast cancer awareness.
- €4,008 for Movember, a month dedicated to raising awareness about prostate and testicular cancer
These funds will support two specific initiatives at the Baclesse Center.
Pink October: improving the patient journey
The €3,890 donation will help fund the purchase of post-operative bras for patients who have undergone immediate breast reconstruction after a mastectomy.
In France, more than 60,000 new cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year, and a mastectomy is still necessary in nearly a quarter of cases. After the operation, wearing a compression bra day and night for several weeks is essential to support the prosthesis and promote recovery.
The supported project aims to provide a suitable bra for each patient undergoing immediate breast reconstruction, directly in the surgery department. The goal is to reduce inequalities in access to this essential equipment, which can cost up to €90 per device.
Movember: supporting research
The €4,008 raised through Movember will support a research project focused on analyzing the links between cancer and pesticide exposure. This donation will help advance research and understanding of the environmental factors linked to cancer.

Collective and loyal mobilization
This meeting provided a valuable opportunity for discussion, highlighting the importance of the club and its partners' commitment to these charitable initiatives. The Baclesse Center extends its sincere thanks to the Caen Drakkars Hockey Club and its partners ( Agence Cardinal, PROSENIUM, Coiffeur Chez Max, Chez Huguette – unisex hairdresser, Bye La Clope, Harmonie Mutuelle ESS – VYV Group) for their support of the teams, patients, and their families.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
