On November 28, theUniversité de Caen Normandie hosted an exceptional event dedicated to the challenges of artificial intelligence (AI) in the healthcare sector, bringing together researchers, professionals and entrepreneurs. Pr Roman ROUZIER, General Director of the Centre Baclesse, and Aurélien CORROYER-DULMONT, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Unit, took part in this unique event.

Caen la Mer 's AI/Health ecosystem: a region in the throes of innovation

The event began with a detailed presentation of the local AI and healthcare ecosystem, with a focus on collaborations between public, private and academic institutions. Local players highlighted innovative programs, such as SATIN and NORMANTHIA, which aim to integrate artificial intelligence into healthcare practices and medical research.

Roundtable discussion: "Towards connected health: the implications of AI"

The round table, moderated by Aurélien CORROYER-DULMONT, was a key moment of the day. Renowned experts, including Pr Roman ROUZIER, discussed the challenges of connected healthcare. They explored how AI is transforming medical practices and care, addressing in particular health data management and the impact of technologies on patients' daily lives.

Presentation of pitches by students in the Master's program in AI, Data Science, and Health

Students enrolled in the Master's program in Computer Science: "Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Health" had the opportunity to present their innovative projects as part of the Data Challenge, Algo Challenge, and Techno Challenge pitches. These talented young people proposed concrete solutions to digital health challenges, showcasing their creativity and expertise in AI to meet the needs of tomorrow.

Plenary conference: "Digital Ethics: Where Are We Today?"

The day concluded with a plenary lecture moderated by Aurélien CORROYER-DULMONT, featuring Raja CHATILA, Professor Emeritus of Artificial Intelligence and Technology Ethics at Sorbonne University. Digital ethics and regulatory issues in the field of AI were addressed, prompting deep reflection on the ethical challenges facing society with the rise of these technologies in sensitive sectors such as healthcare.


The event not only highlighted local advances, but also encouraged exchanges between researchers, students, healthcare professionals and entrepreneurs.
