From May 20 to 22, the Centre Baclesse took part in SantExpo2025, a major annual event featuring three days of exchanges, presentations and debates on the major transformations taking place in cancer research.

On May 20, Michael Canovas, Deputy Director General of the institution, spoke at an Agora Manager event on the topic: "Caring for those who care: a lever for sustainable performance?"

Michael Canovas discussed the concrete actions and measures to be deployed to support healthcare professionals, alongside :

  • Sophie Beaupère (General Delegate,Unicancer),
  • by Dr Rachel Bocher (Head of Psychiatry at Nantes University Hospital),
  • by Anne-Claire De Reboul (DGA, Institut Curie)
  • and Dr Géraldine Pignot (urological surgeon at the Institut Paoli-Calmettes).

On May 21, Professor Roman Rouzier, Director General of the Baclesse Center, participated in the Agora "Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Security," moderating the round table "AI & Cancer: Redefining the Frontiers of Research and Care."

This debate, which highlighted the challenges linked to the development of artificial intelligence in oncology, brought together :

  • Dr Xavier Alacoque (Director of DATAS / RSSI at IUCT-Oncopole Claudius Regaud),
  • Pr Steven Le Gouill (Director General of the Institut Curie),
  • Dr. Thibaut Reichert (Nuclear Medicine Practitioner at the Institut Paoli-Calmettes),
  • and Anne-Laure Martin (Director of Datas and Partnerships at Unicancer).

The roundtable explored a wide range of topics, highlighting the many facets of AI integration in oncology:

  • Medical decision support,
  • Personalized treatments,
  • Development of new research methodologies,
  • Deployment of targeted prevention initiatives...
