As part of their first year in the Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Techniques program at the Caen Normandy University Institute of Technology (IUT), the students took on a challenge that combined education and community service: taking concrete action to support cancer research. Their mission was to design and carry out a fundraising campaign selling Jeannette madeleines to benefit the Baclesse Center.
A record turnout!
160 students, supervised by Maureen RODON and supported by Alexia BOULLIER from the Jeannette cookie factory as well as the Human TC association, threw themselves wholeheartedly into this charitable project. Divided into 25 teams, they handled the sale and distribution of nearly 5,000 boxes of Jeannette madeleines, representing an impressive total of 95,000 cookies distributed.
On March 31, 2026, their commitment was formalized with the official presentation of a check for nearly €17,000 to the Baclesse Center, intended to support the TRIPLEX clinical trial. These funds are specifically earmarked for the TRIPLEX clinical trial, a promising research project focused on triple-negative breast cancer. This type of cancer, characterized by the absence of hormone receptors, limits conventional treatment options and requires innovative approaches.
The objectives of the TRIPLEX clinical trial:
– To test new treatment combinations,
– To offer new prospects for survival and quality of life.
This highlight took place in the presence of Dr. Georges EMILE, medical oncologist, Jordane DIVOUX, researcher, and Géraldine PAYEN, donor relations manager, who praised the students’ involvement and emphasized the importance of their contribution to advancing cancer research.
A wonderful chain of solidarity!
The Baclesse Center extendsits sincere thanks to everyone involved in this initiative. The students in the Bachelor’s in Marketing Techniques program can be proud of their achievements:they have successfully given their education a truly human dimension.
