The François Baclesse Center is committed to promoting gender equality in the workplace by signing the Charter of Commitment for the Healthcare Sector.
The signing ceremony took place on September 28 in Rouen, during a morning event that brought together numerous institutional stakeholders and healthcare facilities from Normandy. Organized by the Prefecture of the Normandy Region and Seine-Maritime, the Normandy Regional Health Agency (ARS Normandie), and the Normandy Region, in partnership with the association Donner des ELLES à la Santé, this event provided an opportunity to share experiences and discuss the challenges of professional equality in the healthcare sector.
Taking Action for Professional Equality in Healthcare
Founded in 2020, the nonprofit organization Donner des ELLES à la Santé works to advance gender equality in the healthcare sector.
Its initiatives focus in particular on raising awareness about stereotypes and discrimination, preventing gender-based and sexual violence, providing training and mentoring, and supporting institutions in implementing an equality initiative.
The association also publishes an annual survey conducted in partnership with Ipsos, focusing on perceptions of gender inequality in the healthcare sector. This tool helps provide an objective view of the situations experienced by healthcare professionals and identify areas for action.
A Collective Effort in Normandy
The charter brings together stakeholders from various sectors of the healthcare industry in Normandy: institutions, professional associations, universities, federations, and healthcare facilities.
Among the organizations involved are the Normandy Regional Health Agency (ARS Normandie), the Normandy Region, the Prefecture, the Universities of Caen and Rouen, the Normandy Hospital Federation (FHF Normandie), the FEHAP, the FHP, Nexem, several Normandy hospital groups (GHTs), as well as the Rouen University Hospital, the Caen University Hospital, Le Rouvray Hospital, Bois Petit Hospital, the Le Havre Hospital Group, the Lisieux Hospital, and the François Baclesse Center.
For Baclesse, this signing signifies a commitment to fostering a workplace culture based on equality, respect, and the prevention of discrimination.
It is part of a collective effort that is intended to continue over time, involving all of the institution’s professionals.
