Bar "Les Sardines", in CAEN, supported October Rose with an operation in aid of the Centre Baclesse. The idea was simple: offer a non-alcoholic pink cocktail, with part of the proceeds going to breast cancer research.
350 cheque presented to Baclesse
The concept was to combine conviviality and solidarity by enjoying a pink cocktail while supporting an important cause: the fight against cancer at the Centre Baclesse. Under the impetus of bar owner Geoffray FREMIN, the initiative was a resounding success, with enthusiastic participation from customers.
On Tuesday November 5, a cheque for €350 was presented to Hermeline DELEPOUVE, Communications and Fundraising Manager, and Géraldine PAYEN, Donor Relations Officer, in support of breast cancer research at the Centre Baclesse.
In addition to raising funds, the initiative also aimed to raise awareness of breast cancer screening. Pink October is an opportunity to remind people of the importance of early screening, which enables cancers to be detected at a stage when the chances of recovery are greatest. Bar "Les Sardines" thus played a key role in spreading this important message, while offering its customers a moment of conviviality.
A fine way of reminding us that, in the fight against cancer, everyone can play a part.
Continued mobilization
The "Les Sardines" bar's initiative is an inspiring example of solidarity and citizen mobilization. While the month of October is now over, actions of this type remain essential throughout the year to support research and raise public awareness.
This is the first year that this bar on Quai Vendeuvre has mobilized, but the aim is "to make the operation permanent next year and try to federate other bars", underlined Geoffray FREMIN.
THANK YOU for this wonderful event!
