On Friday June 7, 2024, the Centre Baclesse was honored to welcome a dozen members of the Pont-L'Evêque Lions Club. This visit was an opportunity for the Lions Club to discover the research laboratories of the Centre Baclesse and to present a donation of €3193 to support the work of the researchers.
A rewarding visit
Members of the Pont-L'Evêque Lions Club were given a detailed presentation of the Centre Baclesse, highlighting the Center's various activities and missions in the field of cancer research and treatment.
This introduction was followed by a captivating presentation on tumor organoids. These miniature three-dimensional structures, derived from tumor cells, reproduce certain characteristics of human tumors and are used in predictive research into response to treatment. Tumor organoidsrepresent a significant advance, enabling more precise and personalized experiments for each patient.
The visit continued with a tour of the Center's technology platforms and laboratories. Lions Club members were able to see first-hand the equipment and work in progress, and gain a better understanding of the issues at stake and the progress made thanks to their support.

This generous donation testifies to their ongoing commitment and invaluable support for the Centre's research projects and initiatives. Thanks to such gestures, the Centre Baclesse can continue to advance its research and offer innovative and effective treatments to patients.

The visit was an opportunity for Lions Club members to see first-hand the concrete results of their financial support, and to better understand the impact of their philanthropic actions. The Centre Baclesse would like to warmly thank the Pont-L'Evêque Lions Club for their commitment and generosity, which contribute directly to advances in the fight against cancer.
