Outpatient consultations
Consultations are only open to patients suffering from malnutrition. Requests must be made by a doctor at the Centre Baclesse.
Missions
At the Center, nutritional care for patients is provided by theMobile Nutritional Assistance Team (EMAN), made up of doctors and dieticians. The EMAN's mission is prevention, screening and nutritional management. Particular attention is paid to undernutrition, which leads to :
- Reduced immunity and increased risk of infection,
- A change in response and tolerance to oncology treatments, with an unfavorable impact on patient prognosis,
- A moral repercussion, which can go as far as depression,
- Physical weakening, with the risk of falls and dependency,
- Faulty wound healing and cell repair.
EMAN supports :
- Patients suffering from malnutrition or at risk of malnutrition,
- Setting up and monitoring patients on artificial nutrition: enteral nutrition (via feeding tube) and parenteral nutrition (via vein),
- Patients undergoing treatment for localized breast cancer for group information sessions on balanced diet.
Care services
EMAN offers :
- Medical consultations on nutrition and dietetics on medical or nursing prescription or at the patient's request
- Group information sessions on balanced nutrition for patients with localized breast cancer.
