Catherine DELASALLE, president of the Association Entr'aide et Solidarité des Leucémiques, accompanied by Anne-Marie CAUVIN, vice-president and Brigitte CAUVIN, treasurer, presented a donation of €1,500 to support the Centre Baclesse.
Welcomed by Hermeline DELEPOUVE, Communications and Fundraising Director, and Géraldine PAYEN, Donations and Donor Relations Officer, they presented their association, their commitment and their wish to support the Centre Baclesse.
Mutual aid and solidarity, meaningful values
It was in Truttemer-le-Grand (14), about ten kilometers from Vire, that the association Entr'aide et Solidarité des Leucémiques was founded in 1988. A local family was faced with their child's illness and needed help. In a collective show of solidarity, the local people rallied together and created the association, with a dozen volunteers, to raise funds to help the family of this sick child.
The association was born and has helped many people since its creation. And its main mission is to support people suffering from leukemia and other serious illnesses, for unforeseen medical and educational expenses. It provides invaluable support to patients and their families, helping to lighten the daily burden of illness.
Why Baclesse?
The association is now in profit, and it was only natural that its members should wish to make a donation to the Centre Baclesse, in keeping with the purpose of their association and, above all, their commitment to serving others.
Mrs DELASALLE and Mrs CAUVIN wish to see "as many achievements as possible in the numerous research missions and in improving the quality of life of patients".
MANY THANKS!
