Mask wearing: lower standards
In view of the current epidemiological situation, and in line with the latest update of the recommendations issued by the French Society of Hospital Hygiene, on June 2, 2023 we are lifting the requirement for patients, visitors and employees to wear masks systematically throughout the facility, including in care departments.
Signage at the Center will be reviewed in the coming days.
Except under these conditions
1/ The requirement to wear a mask is maintained for any person (employee or external visitor, patient, relative, etc.) presenting respiratory symptoms (coughing, sneezing, etc.).
2/ As part of the standard precautions that apply to all patient care, a surgical mask must be worn in the following situations:
Patients :
For frail patients, wearing a mask is strongly recommended inside healthcare establishments, including during consultations, and outside, according to current recommendations.
If you're not sure whether you're frail or not, ask your GP or oncologist.
Center Baclesse professionals :
- For any treatment involving the risk of spraying or aerosolizing respiratory secretions (respiratory physiotherapy, tracheal care, tracheal suctioning, aerosols, etc.): the mask must be worn in conjunction with protective goggles.
- When caring for a patient with a suspected respiratory infection: care involving the projection of respiratory secretions must continue to be carried out using an FFP2 mask and protective goggles.
- When the professional has a respiratory infection, to protect patients and other professionals. This measure applies to all the Center's professionals, whether caregivers or not.
This decision may be called into question at any time, depending on developments in the health situation.
