The 9th edition of the SIDIIEF World Congress was held from June 2 to 5, 2025, in Lausanne, Switzerland, focusing on the theme "Nursing Innovation: Driving Change in Healthcare." It brought together some 1,700 participants from more than 30 French-speaking countries.
In this prestigious setting, the Centre Baclesse presented several major contributions:
- 4 innovative projects,
- 2 posters,
- 1 high-profile participation in an international round table.
What is SIDIIEF?
SIDIIEF (Secrétariat international des infirmières et infirmiers de l'espace francophone) has been the global network of the French-speaking nursing profession for almost 25 years.
SIDIIEF brings together more than a hundred international associations with a clear mission: to promote nursing leadership, encourage the exchange of knowledge and raise awareness among decision-makers of the importance of our role in the health of populations.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: Telemonitoring, post-cancer and IPA expertise
Remote monitoring
OPTIMACURE, a study presented by François GERNIER, care research coordinator, is a randomized multicenter trial measuring the impact of nurse-coordinated telemonitoring as a complement to usual care during injectable cancer treatment. The primary objective was to compare the number of outgoing telephone calls over two months. Secondary objectives were earlier detection of adverse events and improved patient safety.
Remote monitoring
François LAHAYE presented a retrospective study of 305 patients treated with CDK4/6 inhibitors for metastatic breast cancer at the Centre Baclesse. This research demonstrates the impact of remote nursing monitoring on improving care. The results show a reduction in severe toxicities, a reduction in unscheduled medical interventions, a significant improvement in overall survival and a reduction in treatment suspensions. This structured telemonitoring in the breast pathway scientifically validates the existing model and demonstrates how specialized nursing expertise transforms outpatient care.
Post-cancer
AFTERGYN, presented by Priscille LE BON, advanced practice nurse (IPA), is a structured program dedicated to gynecological post-cancer care. Part of a multi-center study, it offers day hospitalization focused on supportive care, to support patients' physical, psychological and social reconstruction. Led by an IPA, the program aims to enhance patients' strengths and autonomy. It also helps to optimize the post-cancer journey, by creating a dedicated, coordinated time when needs are identified, understood and supported, to avoid disruptions and encourage a gradual return to life.
IPA expertise
Valentin PRÉCOURT, advanced practice nurse, spokesperson for a day of UNICANCER APNs, presented a structuring initiative carried by a community of practice bringing together, since 2021, APNs from cancer centers. This initiative has led to the definition of shared clinical activity indicators, establishing a common framework for tracking, valuing and analyzing the specific contributions of advanced practice nurses in care pathways. As part of a dynamic of transformational leadership, this initiative reinforces the recognition of APNs as major players in innovation in oncology, by supporting the evolution of practices, the quality of care and the clarity of their role within multidisciplinary teams.
POSTERS: Digital innovation and immunotherapy expertise

Our presence was enhanced by two posters:
- WEBAPPAC (François GERNIER): a web-application coupled with nursing support to improve compliance with adjuvant hormone therapy in 438 patients over 18 months. Review of development, deployment and initial results.
- IPA expertise & immunotherapy (Valentin PRÉCOURT): illustration of the positive impact of the Centre Baclesse's IPAs in the management of patients undergoing immunotherapy, with a study confirming their contribution to patients' experience of care.
ROUND TABLE: Carla MATTA invited to discuss patient partnerships

Carla MATTA, Director of Care at the Baclesse Center and Vice President of the French Association of Cancer Nurses, was invited to participate in a roundtable discussion entitled "Partnership with patients, their loved ones, and the public for equitable choices in quality and safety." She discussed with professionals from around the world the need to systematically include patients and their loved ones in decision-making bodies in order to guarantee equitable access to relevant and reassuring care.
