On June 15, the Baclesse Center was pleased to welcome representatives from the Amicale Cycliste Teilleulaise, who came to present a donation of 5,300 € raised during the “Sentiers Roses,” a charity walk and bike ride held on May 17 in Le Teilleul, in the Manche department.
On May 17, starting at 8:30 a.m., nearly 250 participants gathered to take part in this day dedicated to solidarity, sports, and prevention.
The event had two goals: to support cancer research and to raise public awareness about breast and prostate cancer. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, walkers, cyclists, volunteers, and local residents came together to make this event a resounding success.
A Sports Day to Support Research
Thanks to a participation fee set at 10 euros per person and the dedication of participants, partners, and volunteers, the organizers raised a total of 5,300 €, all of which was donated to the Baclesse Center to support its research projects.
This initiative highlights the importance of community and civic engagement in advancing scientific progress for the benefit of patients. The Amicale Cycliste Teilleulaise has chosen to direct its support toward the research program dedicated to tumor organoids.
This innovative technology makes it possible to grow tumors in the laboratory using cells taken from patients. These models are a valuable tool for researchers, enabling them to better understand the mechanisms of cancer, evaluate new therapeutic strategies, and develop increasingly personalized and effective treatments.
Thank you for this wonderful collective energy
The Baclesse Center extends its sincerest thanks to all the volunteers, partners, and participants who contributed to the success of this wonderful initiative. Special recognition goes to Bernard LEBOULANGER, president of the Amicale Cycliste Teilleulaise, as well as to Annick COUTEILLE, Sabrina BLAIS, Blandine ALBON, and Stéphane MELOT, whose dedication and determination were essential to organizing this event.
Every act of support helps advance research and offer new hope to patients.
Building on the success of this year’s Sentiers Roses, the Amicale Cycliste Teilleulaise has already announced its intention to hold the event again next year.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone!
