The team
The Centre François Baclesse has been a major player in clinical cancer research for over twenty years.
The Clinical Research Unit at the Centre François Baclesse handles the administrative and regulatory management of clinical trials proposed by pharmaceutical laboratories, cancer research centers, cooperative groups, learned societies, etc.).
Personalized care for patients enrolled in clinical trials
The CFB's Investigation Unit has a care unit and staff specifically dedicated to the care of cancer patients enrolled in clinical trials. This is the Investigation, Research, Innovation and Care Unit, known as the "IRIS Unit". It was inaugurated in its new premises on the 2nd floor of the Center on May 2, 2022. It comprises :
- its own sampling center,
- medical and paramedical consultation rooms,
- 10 day hospital beds/places,
- 1 team of dedicated professionals with expertise in clinical research
Technical resources
Since 2010, and for the third time in a row, our Center has been awarded the CLIP² label for the "Labeled Center for Early Phases in Adult Oncology" in 2019. This label distinguishes the 16 best French centers with the capacity to conduct early-phase clinical trials in oncology, thereby offering their patients access to therapeutic innovation.
Clinical trials in progress
Ongoing trials at the Centre François Baclesse are available on the ARCHIMAID website, developed by the OncoNormandie network.

How do I refer a patient?
To provide easy access to therapeutic innovation, the Centre François Baclesse has set up a single point of contact for doctors in the region to centralize requests for referrals for clinical trials:
