On May 19, 2026, the Tulipes en Val es Dunes association presented a check for €28,000 to representatives of the Baclesse Center during an evening event attended by volunteers, partners, and local elected officials.

A total of 56, 500 tulip bulbs were planted on land spanning the 19 municipalities of Val es Dunes and two neighboring municipalities.

Collective and loyal mobilization

After 16 picking sessions held through April 13, more than 50,000 tulips were turned into bouquets by volunteers.

Despite challenging conditions caused by mild weather with no precipitation, the turnout was remarkable: 630 bouquets of 18 stems were delivered to establishments in surrounding municipalities as part of 157 vase contracts, while 4,250 bouquets of 9 stems were distributed to the general public. The bouquets were distributed at markets, shopping centers, and directly at the association’s location—now well known to the local public—near the gas station.

Solidarity also emerged spontaneously around the organization: local businesses, auto repair shops, sports clubs, and city halls launched initiatives to promote and expand the fundraising effort.

At the conclusion of this wonderful collective endeavor, the association’s treasurer symbolically presented a check for €28,000 to representatives of the Baclesse Center, including Hermeline Delepouve, director of communications and philanthropy, Magali Micaud, a radiation and proton therapy specialist, as well as the department’s radiation therapists Céline Martin, Manon Madeleine, and Justine Verougstraete. This meeting provided a special opportunity for dialogue, underscoring the importance of the club’s and its partners’ commitment to charitable initiatives.

Funded project: illuminated signs

This donation helped fund the installation of light panels. Inspired by natural light and soothing landscapes, they transform treatment areas by creating a more serene and welcoming atmosphere. This initiative helps improve patients’ comfort and well-being throughout their care journey.

Thank you for your solidarity

The Baclesse Center would like to extend its heartfelt thanks tothe “Les Tulipes contre le cancer” association in Val-es-Dunes, its loyal partners, and all the volunteers who give their time to support its healthcare teams and patients.
