Tulips against cancer in Evrecy
The "Tulips Against Cancer" campaign is a well-oiled machine. Every fall, volunteers come together to plant tulip bulbs. In the spring, for about three weeks, the public comes to pick the tulips that have sprouted from the ground. The volunteers pick the flowers and make bouquets that are offered in exchange for a donation at various public locations.
For the 2021-2022 campaign, the Tulips Against Cancer team encountered a few difficulties, firstly with a lower than expected number of bulbs, meaning fewer tulips, and also with a shorter flowering period, as they have to adapt to the weather! However, the motivation and good spirits of the Tulips Against Cancer volunteers remained intact.
In Evrecy, 2 actions are proposed for the benefit of the Baclesse Center
- Bouquet-vases: 1 bouquet per week for shopkeepers, craftsmen and professionals in Evrecy and the surrounding area. This action raised 4370 euros.
- A bouquet of tulips for a donation of 6 euros directly in the fields, in partner structures such as Crédit Agricole Normandie... and also at the Centre Baclesse, with the presence of Tulipes contre le cancer volunteers in the entrance hall throughout April. A total of 8455 euros was raised.
Since 2005, the profits raised by Evrecy's Tulipes contre le Cancer have mainly been donated to the Centre Baclesse in Caen, representing a total contribution of over 205,000 euros for the benefit of the Centre Baclesse. In Evrecy, Tulips Against Cancer is a great human adventure!
Thank you for your loyal support!
