On Saturday March 29, 2025, the Centre Baclesse held its Open House.
The day was a great success! Good humor, curiosity and discovery were the order of the day.
The morning was dedicated to the Lions Clubs of the Normandy region who support the Centre Baclesse. They were welcomed in the amphitheater for a presentation on the 2024 donations. They were then divided into 11 groups for 3 private tours of different departments. The Lions Club and volunteer staff then enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by the catering department.
In the afternoon, the facility welcomed employees and their families. 14 departments opened their doors, covering the establishment's 3 missions: care, research and teaching.
- Fundamental research and transfer laboratories: lab tour (Inserm U1086 ANTICIPE)
- AGRICAN study: presentation of the study on cancer prevention in agricultural environments (Inserm U1086 ANTICIPE)
- Cancer and Cognition Platform: presentation of the team's work on memory/concentration difficulties following cancer and its treatments (Inserm U1086 ANTICIPE).
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) cluster: visit to the Workstation
- Clinical research hospitalization: visit to the IRIS unit
- Cancer biology and genetics laboratory tour
- Anatomopathology: laboratory tour
- Operating room: tour of an operating room
- Oncology day hospital: tour of the department
- Surgical outpatient care: department tour & dressing workshop
- Radiotherapy: tour of the external radiotherapy treatment department
- Supportive care consultations: department tour
- Medicine weekday hospitalization: tour of the treatment room, family lounge and 2 rooms for
teens/young adults, with frescoes painted by SoLiCe - Patients & Relatives area: tour of the department
- Catering service: a tour of the kitchens
Finally, information stands reserved for Baclesse staff (HR, CSE, Harmonie Mutuelle) and donors, as well as partner structures (Bibliothèque des malades - Comité Pierre et Marie Curie, Les Blouses Roses - Caen, Présence-Ecoute - ASPEC 14 - Association de bénévoles d'accompagnement en soins palliatifs, Représentants des Usagers) were on hand to answer questions.
