On September 22, 2022, Professor Marc-André Mahé (Executive Director), Laurence Picard (Deputy Executive Director), and Sandra Gilles (Mobility Plan Coordinator) are proud to announce the Centre Baclesse's commitment to obtaining the "Pro-Bicycle Employer" label.
The Objectif Employeur Pro-Vélo (OEPV) program
The François Baclesse Center is participating in the "Objectif Employeur Pro-Vélo" (Pro-Cycling Employer) program run by the French Federation of Bicycle Users (FUB), which aims to support employers in developing a cycling culture by providing equipment and services to promote the use of bicycles for commuting between home and work.
Why do we get involved?
"Over the past few years, we have implemented numerous measures through our mobility plan to encourage people to cycle to work at Baclesse. These include secure bicycle parking at the Center, the introduction of a sustainable mobility pass, bicycle repair workshops, and more," says Sandra Gilles, Mobility Plan Coordinator at the Center.
"We now want to promote our approach by obtaining this OEPV label and implementing new measures to strengthen cycling culture at the Baclesse Center," explains Laurence Picard, Deputy Director General.
How does it work?
The program offers employers a tailor-made support program run by experts. The program begins with a self-diagnosis based on the Pro-Bike Employer Reference Guide, to identify the employer's strengths and areas for improvement. The employer then receives personalized advice on how to improve its cycling policy, as well as a bonus for setting up services and equipment.
The Pro-Vélo Employer label
Once the support program has been completed and the measures implemented by the employer have been assessed against the guidelines during an on-site audit, the employer can be awarded the Employeur Pro-Vélo label (Gold, Silver or Bronze, depending on the number of points obtained). This label is valid for a period of 3 years.
This label will highlight the cycling culture established by the establishment and create a community of pro-bike employers.
Signing the commitment charter
During European Mobility Week, on September 22, 2022, the François Baclesse Center signed the charter of commitment for the "Pro-Cycling Employer" program. This formalizes its participation in a certification process.
