Baclesse was delighted to take part in the 11th Journée Normande d'Actualités sur les Cancers des Personnes Âgées and the Rencontres Infirmières en Oncologie Régionales (RIOR), held at the MoHo in Caen.
Several members of the Centre Baclesse took the floor to share their expertise:
- Professor Roman ROUZIER, Director General, shared his vision on strengthening collaboration between cities and hospitals to improve oncology care pathways during the round table discussion entitled "Oncology today and tomorrow in Normandy: city/hospital links."
- Valentin PRÉCOURT, advanced practice nurse (APN), participated in the session "Feedback from national and international conferences: MASCC, ESMO, and SOFOG 2024." He also moderated the plenary session "Cancer & Cognition, " which explored the impacts of treatments on patients' cognitive abilities and support strategies.
- Priscille LE BON, IPA and UCOG coordinator with the OncoNormandie network, contributed to discussions on the specific challenges of cancers in the elderly and concrete solutions to improve their care.
- Professor Florence JOLY, scientific director, oncologist, and researcher, spoke at the "Cancer & Cognition" plenary session, providing scientific insight into the effects of cancer treatments on memory and concentration, as well as cognitive rehabilitation approaches.
- Marie LANGE, neuropsychologist and researcher at Cancers et Préventions INSERM 1086, enriched the discussions with her expertise on the assessment of cognitive disorders induced by oncology treatments and recommendations for appropriate patient management.
- François GERNIER, care research coordinator, took an active part in discussions on the essential role of clinical research in improving practices and meeting patients' needs. Moderator of the ACEC nursing session: Clinical nursing examination, nursing science and feedback on article 51.
A huge thank you to each of them for their commitment and their valuable contributions, which enriched this day in partnership with the OncoNormandie network and theAFIC Association Française des Infirmièr(e)s de Cancérologie.
