On Wednesday November 17, 2021, the Centre François Baclesse, represented by Pr Marc-André Mahé, General Manager, signed the Romain Jacob Charter at Caen's Centre communal d'action sociale (CCAS), in the presence of Gérard Hurelle, Caen's deputy mayor responsible for solidarity, intergenerational links, health and disability.
Professor Marc-André Mahé signs the Romain Jacob Charter for the Centre François Baclesse
The Romain Jacob Charter aims to unite all regional and national players in order to improve access to healthcare for people with disabilities.
The charter is based on 12 commitments:
- Enhancing the disabled person's self-image and support.
- Express needs.
- Integrating health into the life course of people with disabilities.
- Building a common professional culture.
- Coordinating the healthcare pathway.
- Organizing access to care and prevention.
- Facilitate and develop access to outpatient care.
- Preventing and adapting hospitalization, with or without accommodation.
- Improving response to medical emergencies.
- Facilitate the use of information and communication technologies.
- Implement and evaluate this charter.
The signing of this Charter consolidates the Centre François Baclesse's commitment with the City of Caen to promoting access to healthcare for people with disabilities, following the organization of an initial breast cancer screening awareness campaign during Pink October, carried out on October 15, 2021.
Our shared aim is to make this initiative a lasting one, and to develop other projects to improve care and access to healthcare for people with disabilities.
