On Sunday October 15, 2023 in Baron-sur Odon, a number of local associations, including parents, the twinning committee, the Godillots baronnais, the entertainment committee, the Échange des savoirs and the municipal youth council, got together to organize a "Pink October" operation to raise funds for the Centre Baclesse.

A hike, the sale of small decorations, a tombola and many other activities raised funds for the Centre Baclesse.

On Thursday, December 21, 2023, the organizers of Pink October Day presented Hermeline DELEPOUVE, Director of Communications and Fundraising, and Géraldine PAYEN, Donations and Donor Relations Manager, with a cheque for €2,420 to support breast cancer research at the Centre Baclesse.
This donation will enable us to continue developing theTriplex clinical trial on triple-negative breast cancer.

What is triple-negative cancer?

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, with over 61,000 new cases in France in 2023 (INCa).
Triple-negative breast cancer accounts for between 10 and 15% of breast cancers diagnosed each year. Triple-negative" means that tumor cells express neither hormone receptors (estrogen and progesterone) nor the HER 2 receptor. This means that certain drug treatments (hormone therapy and targeted anti-HER2 therapy) will not be effective.

Triple-negative breast cancer occurs in younger patients (under 40). Compared with other breast cancers, the risk of recurrence is higher for triple-negative breast cancer (Source: Anders and Carey, 2009).
