The CTD-CNO, located at the François Baclesse Cancer Center in Caen, already ISO 9001 (version 2015) certified for its software administration and research project data management activities, has just extended its scope of certification to biostatistics.
This is international recognition of the quality of CTD-CNO's know-how and skills. The certification proves that the CTD-CNO has established a customer-oriented culture and fosters innovation. It's a source of pride for the teams who have been working for over 15 years to process data for clinical cancer research.
What is CTD-CNO?
Created in 2005, the Centre de Traitement des Données du Cancéropôle Nord-Ouest (CTD-CNO) is a department of the François Baclesse Cancer Center. A support platform accredited by the Cancéropôle Nord-Ouest, supported by the Ligue contre le Cancer as a Clinical Research Platform, and accredited in 2007 by the Institut National du Cancer (INCa), the CTD-CNO brings its expertise to the research projects entrusted to it.
Since its creation, the CTD-CNO has handled all or part of the data processing for over 300 projects. Its expertise in database administration and data management is complemented by its methodological and biostatistical activities. The clinical trials entrusted to us by our partner establishments cover all areas of oncology (radiotherapy, surgery, radiology, drugs, support care, etc.).
An entire team convinced by the benefits of certification
In 2018, CTD-CNO was awarded ISO 9001: 2015 certification by Bureau Veritas Certification for its software administration and research project data management activities.
" Two of our processes had been ISO 9001 certified for almost 3 years. We have been able to capitalize on this certification by continually improving our practices, and by taking into account the satisfaction of our customers. It seemed obvious to us to extend this certification to our biostatistics activities ", says Lucie LAROCHE, Quality Manager at CTD-CNO.
It is clear that this quality approach has a very positive impact on our activities, which is why the CTD-CNO wanted to include biostatistics within the scope of certification. Certification took place on November 13, 2020, with the new certificate taking effect on March 31, 2021.
" This certification process, based on an internationally recognized standard such as ISO 9001, not only guarantees that all our processes comply with current regulations, but also gives us greater visibility on a national level. It is also recognition of the work carried out by the whole team, with a very high level of staff involvement underlined by the auditor," says Brice DUBOIS, Director of CTD-CNO.
" The Centre de Traitement des Données (CTD) is a key platform for pooling resources at the service of research in our inter-region (Hauts-de-France / Normandie). I'm delighted that the work carried out over the last few years is continuing to evolve, and that the CTD is constantly improving to serve the scientific community of the Cancéropôle Nord-Ouest and beyond, " says Professor Guy LAUNOY, President of the Cancéropôle Nord-Ouest.
" Expanding the scope of the CTD-CNO's ISO 9001 certification enriches the many quality approaches already in place at the Centre François Baclesse and contributes to the facility's quality culture, attested in particular by its European Compréhensive Cancer Center certification. Since 2018. The team has seized the tools and methods of ISO certification to invest them in the management and improvement of the department's activities. Certifying the biostatistics activity was a new challenge to take up; it was supported by a robust quality system and a committed, dynamic team, " says Doctor Laurence PICARD, Director of Quality and Risk Management at the Centre François Baclesse.
"Excellence in research requires expertise in data processing and analysis. With the extension of its ISO 9001 certification, the CTD, an inter-regional platform, is strengthening the recognition of its expertise and its attractiveness to research teams. It contributes to the reputation of our establishment, with a constant focus on quality for the benefit of patients," emphasizes Professor Marc-André MAHE, General Manager of the Centre François Baclesse.
