On Monday June 17, Marie-Josèphe BANNO and Sylvie ROYENS of the Lions Club de Mortagne-le-Perche (61) presented a cheque for €1,500 to Hermeline DELEPOUVE and Géraldine PAYEN of the Centre Baclesse fundraising department.
A donation to purchase new equipment
As part of the tulips against cancer initiative, this donation supports the BioTICLA laboratory of Inserm Unit 1086 Anticipe, by co-financing innovative equipment: a real-time PCR device and a high-throughput automation system.

What is a real-time PCR instrument? ?
This device (Q7 Pro) quantifies circulating miRNAs in biological samples in 384-well microplates, enabling high-throughput quantification. It will be coupled to a robot that enables this operation to be carried out automatically on numerous plates, further increasing throughput.
What are circulating miARNS?
As soon as a tumor is present in the body, circulating miRNAs are disseminated and found in the blood. These biomarkers are particularly interesting, since they can be accessed by a simple blood test, and can provide information on the nature of the cancer, tumor progression or response to treatment.
The equipment costs €92,000 and will be financed by donations. The acquisition of this new equipment will enable Baclesse's researchers toimprove the precision and efficiency of their analyses and advance our research.
Thanks to the Lions Club of Mortagne-le-Perche
The commitment of the 20 members of the Mortagne-Le-Perche Lions Club to supporting cancer research at the Centre Baclesse enables researchers and doctors to continue providing quality care and advancing medical research.
Well done and thank you all!
