On Friday June 23, 2023, at the Salle Ekklesia in Tinchebray-Bocage, Nicolas Garnier, President of the Tinchebray-Condé Lions Club, presented a cheque for 12,500 euros to support the establishment's research activities. The donation came from the "Tulips against Cancer" campaign. Dr Christophe Denoyelle, a researcher at the Centre Baclesse within the Inserm Unit 1086 Anticipe, took the opportunity to present the latest advances in women's cancer research.
For over 30 years now, the Lions Club de Tinchebray-Condé has been involved in the "Tulips against Cancer" campaign. For this annual operation, the members of the Tinchebray-Condé Lions Club set a new record with the planting of 65,000 bulbs last November, on land kindly lent by farmers. The operation then mobilized all Club members and volunteers over a five-week period, due to low temperatures, to pick and form the bouquets, as well as selling them directly in the field, at markets and in the shopping arcades of nearby supermarkets. Tulips Against Cancer" contracts signed with partners, shopkeepers, craftsmen and industrialists, also raise funds for the Centre Baclesse.
A huge THANK YOU to the Tinchebray-Condé Lions Club for its generosity, trust and support over many years. Together, we're stronger.
