At the 62nd Scientific Days of the French Society of Medical Physics (SFPM) held in Dijon from June 12 to 14, 2024, the work of the of the Medical Physics Department was awarded the prize for best poster.
The work involved the development of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithm to predict the outcome of quality control based on metrics characterizing radiotherapy (RT) plans. These quality controls are compulsory but time-consuming, and reduce the availability of the treatment machine for patients.
Based on several thousand radiotherapy plans carried out on the RapidArc and Halcyon machines used at the Centre Baclesse, the AI model developed shows excellent accuracy scores of between 97 and 100%. Its simple user interface means it can be used routinely by professionals who are not experts in AI.

Congratulations to Noémie MOREAU, doctoral student in Artificial Intelligence and Medical Imaging at the Centre Baclesse, and first author of this poster, for this award!
