On Friday December 8, 2023, at the Hôtel des Pins in Jullouville (50), Estelle COHIER and Jakotte HERNANDEZ, surrounded by the Jullouvillaises organizing team and partners, presented a cheque for €10,000 to Hermeline DELEPOUVE, Director of Communications and Fundraising, and Géraldine PAYEN, in charge of donations and donor relations, in support of the Centre Baclesse.
Jullouvillaises support Baclesse
Jakotte HERNANDEZ, president of the association, praised the commitment of everyone - participants, volunteers and partners - to this 10th edition. "This great mobilization enabled us to reach our goal of €10,000 for Baclesse"confides Jakotte with emotion.
This sum, raised from registrations (€15) and the generosity of the Jullouvillaises' partners, will be divided into 2 equal parts, to support :
- Breast cancer research at the Centre Baclesse
- The Baclesse Center support care department
Hermeline DELEPOUVE, Baclesse's Director of Communications and Fundraising, took the floor to thank all those involved and our partners for all the work carried out by the association. The speech was also an opportunity to present the projects supported thanks to the 2022 contribution, which amounted to €9,210:
- The implementation of theTRIPLEX trialtrial, 80% funded by donations. This clinical trial on triple-negative breast cancer would not have been possible without our donors.
- The purchase of a photobiomodulation device (athermal laser) to treat the side effects of treatment, notably mucositis.
Finally, a few words on prevention were said, to remind us of the real advantage of regular physical activity in prevention, but also in the treatment phase, including when you have cancer. In fact, it has been shown that keeping up a suitable level of physical activity during treatment helps to cope better with side effects, and improves quality of life and survival.
Longe côte against cancer
On Sunday, October 8, 2023, in Jullouville (50), the Les Jullouvillaises association organized its 10th walk, in the water and on the sand, to support the fight against breast cancer. Over 400 people took part, and almost 1,000 spectators cheered on the "sportsmen and women".
Godmother of the 2023 event, Dr Corinne JEANNE, pathologist at the Centre Baclesse, presented the facility's research and supportive care initiatives. She also promoted breast cancer screening, since "almost 50% of women over 50 do not go for screening".
See you in 2024
The convivial evening ended with a friendly drink, during which Jakotte HERNANDEZ and the Jullouvillaises announced the 11th edition: September 29, 2024, on the Jullouville beach.
MANY THANKS FOR YOUR COMMITMENT TO US!
